Malta, a tiny island in the middle of the Mediterranean, boasts of a long-winded colourful history which is to this day still beautifully captured in all the crooks and crannies of its numerous towns and cities. Whilst each town somehow manages to offer a different taste of Maltese culture, nothing compares to Malta’s capital city, Valletta, also known as Citta’ Umilissima.
Valletta, the European Capital of Culture 2018 was in fact selected as one of the cities to be extended coverage as part of the second edition of the City Mavericks programme. This is an initiative launched this year by MUNPlanet, the world’s leading knowledge network on all things related to Model UN. City Mavericks offers a platform for MUNers that are passionate about the cities they live in; who know their history, heritage, city dynamic, nightlife, gastronomic corners, landmark sites and all other things that make their homes tick.
Our resident MUN City Maverick Christopher Bergedahl has delved into a number of topics of interest including Valletta’s history, hidden secrets and Hollywood pedigree.
