The Malta Model United Nations Society is proud to present Malta Model United Nations 2015, the first International MUN conference in the 2018 European Capital for Culture, Valletta.
Throughout history, Malta has been heralded as ‘The Nurse of the Mediterranean’ and it has once again been called upon to fulfill this role as the irregular immigration problem has come to a head in our seas. In order to deepen understanding of the calamitous fate of these immigrants the Society would like to invite discussion on the theme of ‘Lives Adrift: Fighting the Exploitation of Irregular Immigrants’. Between the 18th and the 20th of September 2015, delegates will have the opportunity to listen to inspiring guest speakers and to produce a particular nation state’s views on the issue, all the while guided by knowledgeable Chairs and aided by newfound friends.
The Conference is about people: the plight of the immigrants, the dilemmas of statesmen, and the building of bridges between different delegates. The social events will unite all of these with a boat party on Saturday night setting delegates adrift in style following the traditional delegate drinks on Friday. So be one of our distinguished delegates at MaltMUN 2015 and apply here!
